PatchMon Cloud is fully managed: we keep the server updated, run scheduled backups, monitor uptime, and include tiered support, so you are not patching the patch tool.

Frequently asked questions
What's included in the free Community edition?
The full product: no host limits, no user limits, and no feature gates. Package inventory, patch deployment, compliance scanning, SSH/RDP remote access, alerting, Docker monitoring, RBAC, SSO, and more. You download and run it; you own updates, backups, and uptime.
Do I need a credit card to try Community?
No. Run the official Docker setup script (or download compose from GitHub), configure your .env, run docker compose up -d, complete the admin wizard, then enroll each host from Hosts → Add host (copy the install command from your own server). No vendor account, no signup, no credit card. You can be monitoring your first host in under five minutes.
Is there a per-host fee?
No. Self-hosted Community supports unlimited hosts at no cost. Cloud plans have host limits per tier (10, 100, or 250) but no additional per-host charges within your tier.
What does Cloud add over Community?
We run the platform for you: managed hosting, automatic server updates, scheduled backups, longer log retention, custom domains on Plus and Max, layered IP allowlists on Plus and Max (not Starter), and direct support at higher tiers. You get the same product capabilities without operating the control plane yourself.
Can I start with Community and move to Cloud or PRO later?
Yes. Many teams pilot on Community, then move to Cloud when they want us to handle operations, or add PRO Service / Enterprise for hands-on support and custom programs. Data can be exported and migrated when you are ready.
What platforms and package managers are supported?
Linux (APT, DNF/YUM, APK, Pacman), FreeBSD (pkg), and Windows (Windows Update with WSUS support). Agents build for amd64, i386, arm64, and arm architectures.
What's the difference between Cloud Starter, Plus, and Max?
They differ in host limits (10/100/250), resource isolation (Starter and Plus share capacity; Max is dedicated), backup frequency and retention, log retention, custom domain availability, and IP allowlists (Plus and Max only). All tiers include every platform feature.
What happens to my data if I cancel Cloud?
Your data is yours. We provide a full export before account closure, and you can migrate to a self-hosted instance at any time.
Is there a free trial for Cloud?
Yes. All Cloud tiers include a 14-day free trial so you can evaluate the managed experience before committing. Card required at signup, but you can cancel anytime before the trial ends.
