Acceptable Use Policy

1. Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules for using PatchMon's website, software, cloud services, and community spaces (collectively, the “Services”). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

By using the Services, you agree to comply with this AUP. We may update this policy from time to time, and continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Permitted Use

You may use the Services to:

• Monitor and manage patches across your own infrastructure or infrastructure you are authorised to manage.
• Access and use the PatchMon platform in accordance with your licence (Community, PRO, or Cloud).
• Contribute to PatchMon's open-source repositories in accordance with the AGPLv3 licence.
• Participate in PatchMon community spaces (GitHub, Discord) in a constructive and respectful manner.

3. Prohibited Use

You must not use the Services to:

3.1 Illegal Activities

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or legal obligation.
• Monitor, manage, or access systems without proper authorisation.
• Facilitate or promote illegal activities of any kind.

3.2 Security Violations

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services, other accounts, or systems connected to the Services.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services or any connected system without authorisation.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the performance of the Services or connected infrastructure.
• Distribute malware, viruses, trojans, or other malicious code through the Services.

3.3 Abuse of Resources

• Use the Services in a way that consumes disproportionate resources or negatively impacts other users (applicable to PatchMon Cloud).
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Services beyond normal API usage.
• Resell, sublicence, or redistribute access to the Services without our written consent.

3.4 Community Conduct

• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users or PatchMon staff.
• Post spam, unsolicited promotions, or irrelevant content in community spaces.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Share content that is defamatory, obscene, or promotes discrimination.

4. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP. If we determine that a violation has occurred, we may take action including:

• Issuing a warning.
• Temporarily suspending access to the Services.
• Permanently terminating your account and access to the Services.
• Reporting the activity to relevant law enforcement authorities.

We will endeavour to provide notice before taking enforcement action where practicable, but reserve the right to act immediately where necessary to protect the Services or other users.

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to us at support@patchmon.net. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
