OpenAI API

When the AI provider is set to OpenAI, PatchMon uses https://api.openai.com/v1 with the model you configure. Supported options in the product include GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, and GPT-4 Turbo class identifiers, subject to your account and region.

  • Provider id: openai in PatchMon AI configuration
  • Server-side calls; keys remain encrypted at rest
  • Pick the model tier that fits cost and latency

Assistant and completion

Terminal assistance uses a PatchMon system prompt tuned for Linux and Unix administration. Completion mode suggests the remainder of the current command line using the same provider and key, with guardrails on temperature and length.

  • Explain errors and output from live SSH sessions
  • Completion focuses on the fragment at the cursor
  • Works alongside Open SSH integration in the product
