Integration

Claude
for the AI terminal.

Select Anthropic as the AI provider in PatchMon settings and use your own API key. The browser SSH terminal can ask Claude about output, errors, and next steps, with optional command completion backed by the same provider stack.

PatchMon - AI-assisted SSH terminal (Claude)

How it works

Everything you need to know, at a glance.

Direct Anthropic API

PatchMon calls the Anthropic Messages-compatible API at api.anthropic.com. You choose the model (for example Claude Sonnet or Haiku variants exposed in settings) and PatchMon sends the assistant and completion requests server-side so keys are not exposed to browsers.

  • Provider id: anthropic in PatchMon AI configuration
  • Model list matches server-supported Claude releases
  • API key stored encrypted in application settings

Terminal chat and context

In the AI-assisted terminal, recent session text is attached as context for questions. Administrators get concise explanations, likely causes, and suggested commands, aligned with PatchMon’s terminal-assistant system prompt.

  • Chat uses rolling terminal buffer context
  • Short conversation history for follow-up questions
  • Code blocks from the model can be sent into the session
